Little Red River Cree Nation is seeking three (3) part-time dynamic, community-driven, team players ready to hit the ground running in the position of Community Climate and Energy Facilitator.
One part-time position is available for each community:
John D’Or Prairie, AB
Fox Lake, AB
Garden River, AB
What Does a Climate and Energy Facilitator Do?
Support the Climate Policy and Program Advisor with community initiatives and will report directly to the advisor
Deliver in-community energy conservation and climate mitigation education through workshops, community events, and home visits
Provide community members with personalized advice on ways to improve their management of energy use, how to read their energy bills, reduce costs, and improve the comfort, health and safety of their homes
Provide community members with ongoing energy and climate guidance and support
Act as an ongoing resource to help connect communities to energy planning and saving initiatives, climate action activities and funding opportunities
Deliver community messaging through media and public relations efforts, including newsletters and social media platforms
As a community member, the Community Climate and Energy Facilitator will provide insight into the unique energy, climate and housing needs of each community.
Training & Support To support you in your new role, Community Climate and Energy Facilitators will receive training on a variety of topics including the following:

Anatomy of an Energy and Climate Workshops and Presentations
Presentation Skills and Media Training
The skills developed through training will enable the Community Climate and Energy Facilitators to act as an ongoing resource to help connect their community to participate in energy planning, climate mitigation and other initiatives that will help communities to reach their climate and energy management goals.
Required Skills & Experience;
Connection to the community
Comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations Must be computer literate (Word, Excel, Email, Data entry) Ability to speak Cree will be considered an asset
Able to work independently with little supervision
Must have own transportation
Reliable and Dependable
Desired Skills & Experience;
Work or volunteer experience with community level groups Organization and planning skills
Familiarity with energy, climate mitigation, sustainability or willingness to learn
