ABOUT

Kayas College exists and operates fully on-reserve, serving the community members of Little Red River Cree Nation in Northern Alberta.
Throughout our programming, we strive to unite the three communities we serve with technology that facilitates the delivery of blended distance and in-class training opportunities. These opportunities are provided to community members seeking to increase their employability, and their ability to serve their communities.

PROGRAMMING

Academic Upgrading

Adult learners can enroll in Kayas’ four-semester adult basic education program, which provides students with the necessary academic and life skills they need to succeed in employment or secondary school equivalent education.
The University and College Entrance Preparation program is accredited to provide students with high school credits in English, math, and social studies.

Capacity Building

Journeyman trades instructors take on apprentices through Kayas’ Housing Construction Renovation Training Program. The instructors work on community housing and infrastructure projects, providing apprentices with an opportunity to develop their communities while learning on the job.

Community Programming

Throughout the year, Kayas runs training programs, workshops, and projects to provide community members of all ages with opportunities to learn and increase their employability. Offerings include Child and Family Literacy, Workplace Safety Training, Microsoft Office Training, and special programs run in partnership with other post-secondary institutions in Alberta.
